Regardless of whether we admit it or not, we’re all constantly on our phones. To make the best of our reality, we should at least put our phone-time to good use.

 

Instead of wasting hours bouncing back and forth between Instagram and Facebook, it’s time we look at the much wider app world and seize the opportunity to use technology to actually enhance the way we live our lives.

Mealime

A meal-planning app where you can create your own personalised meal plan depending on your dietary restrictions and preferences. It’s super easy to use, you pick a week’s worth of meals from their selection, and the app creates a grocery list for you.

 

Headspace

Probably the best meditation app out there. You start with a 10-day beginner’s course where you essentially learn how to meditate. Then you gain access to a ton of guided meditation sessions – guaranteed to relieve stress and clear your mind.

 

My Water

A super simple app that tracks your water intake and gives you reminders to drink more, ‘cause we all need to stay hydrated.

 

Hopper

This is the best app to book flights on, hands down. It basically predicts future airfare rates and lets you know the best time to purchase your ticket.

 

Flora

The goal of this app is to help you focus on whatever task is at hand. The premise is simple: you set the duration you’d like to stay away from your phone and tap ‘start’, by doing so you ‘plant a seed’ and a tree starts growing, if you click away from the app before the time is up, your tree dies. The coolest thing is, you can invite your friends to any Flora session and set a forfeit price that whoever kills the tree has to pay.
