Dolce & Gabbana Show in Dubai

The Italian fashion house is making its mark on the Middle East

It’s no secret that Dolce and Gabbana has had a pretty strong presence with the Middle East for the last few years. The Italian fashion house unveiled their first hijab and abaya collection exclusively for the region in 2016, and this month, the luxury brand’s designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana plan to host their first fashion show in the Middle East, in none other than Dubai.

The show’s announcement comes after the recent opening of the house’s flagship store earlier this year at Dubai Mall—located in the shopping centre’s new Fashion Avenue extension.

Entitled ‘Day & Night’ the show is due to take place on October 7, and will showcase the brand’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection (which just hit the runway in Milan). The show will also include a number of pieces that were designed exclusively for Dubai.

Keeping the same ‘DNA’ theme that took over the house’s Milan show, 128 models are jetting into the UAE specifically for the event and are made up of a diverse cast of varying shapes, sizes, and skin colour.

“The inspiration for the Spring/Summer 2019 show in Milan was DNA, and showcased a range of body types, ages and personalities, so we are hopeful to see the same diversity on the Dubai runway,” the designers told Grazia.

The show is unfortunately invite-only, but you might be able to sneak a peek as it’s set to be held in Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue.
