An Encyclopaedia of Regional Talent Now Exists

A celebration of the Middle East’s creative trailblazers

You might already know about Lammeh from their gargantuan shopping expo, but the Dubai-based platform has evolved into much more than an annual shopping event.

Today Lammeh is a full-fledged creative collective, bringing together the region’s biggest talent one umbrella. And if you take the success of their four-year reign into consideration, the transition makes total sense.

Typically hosted a month before Ramadan and Eid, the shopping expo quickly became every regional designers’ go-to platform to showcase their latest collection to an audience of over 5,000 people.

But Lammeh’s founders have decided to march in a different direction by expanding their reach and launching a first-of-its-kind website where local and regional designers and artists can permanently live as an online community.

Among them is Emirati-Honduran singer and songwriter Fafa, designer and henna artist Dr. Azra, photographer Ola Allouz and Emirati poet Afra. All of whom starred in Lammeh’s launch campaign entitled Not Your Typical, designed as “a celebration of the disrupters and trailblazers in the UAE”.

“We will introduce the Middle East to itself again”, reads their website before going on to describe the platform as “the essential encyclopaedia of regional talent”.

But despite putting focus on their new online community, the collective refuses to neglect the importance of physical presence. For that reason, Lammeh’s annual expo is still in full swing, with their fifth edition set to be held this April, renamed The Fashion Edit.

An exact date has yet to be announced, but we’ll keep you in the loop.
