When it’s spring time and temperatures start to rise, the last thing we want to do is to be stuck in a confined clammy space – and aside from patios, terraces and rooftop bars – there isn’t much entertainment to be had outdoors come nightfall.
Except outdoor cinemas that is. Here’s a MILLE round up of the perfect outdoor cinemas to spend summer nights.
Six Senses Zighy Bay, Oman
This is one of three incredible outdoor cinemas the hotel have installed around the world. It has one of Oman’s best views of the ocean and the surrounding mountains.
Cinema Mirage El Gouna, Egypt
El Gouna is an incredible little town in the middle of the desert surrounded by cute houses, but that doesn’t take away it’s cinematic clout – the small town recently hosted a film festival called Gouna. The town has plenty of activities on offer and our favourite one is the open-air Cinema Mirage, a movie theatre that’s open every Sunday and Thursday with free entrance and a bar.
Vox Outdoor Dubai, UAE
Get snug in their comfortable seats, enjoy yummy snacks and a gorgeous view of the city. The good thing with this theater is that it’s open all year long due to the region’s perfect temperatures.
The Royal Film Commission Amman, Jordan
The festival offers screenings of auteur cinema from around the world. The theater is pretty small but it has an excellent sound system and offers incredible views of Amman’s old town
Cameo Festival, Morocco
This film festival moves around Morocco from one city to another, it’s basically the cinema that comes to you. It offers screenings of old classics and new movies and even has food stands to get snacks, drinks, and even sushi.
