The Ultimate Healthy Protein Ball Recipe

This low-fat, high-protein snack is totally guilt-free

One of the hardest things about trying to be healthy is the innate feeling that you’re depriving yourself. Who doesn’t fantasize about a huge ooey gooey banana split or one chunky slice of delicious carrot cake during that mid-afternoon slump?

Since beach season is literally just around the corner, and we aren’t quite ready to go completely snack-free, here at MILLE we’ve decided to share one of our favourite, super-easy (but ridiculously healthy) snacks with you.

Ingredients (prep 25 minutes)

2 cups of dates

1 cup oats

1 cup chia seeds

2 tbsp coconut oil

A handful of walnuts

Coconut flakes for decoration

Preparation

First, prepare the granola by mixing the oats, coconut oil, chia seeds and the walnuts in a bowl.

Then, spread the mixture on a parchment and cook it in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes until the flakes are golden then set aside to cool off.

Blend the dates in a food processor then add the mixture to the granola and mix together. Make sure all the granola flakes are incorporated in the dates’ dough.

Once you’ve finished mixing, start rolling the mixture in to balls about one and a half inch large and then gently roll them in to the coconut flakes.

Freeze in a hermetic container up to 5 months.

Top Tip: you can put the balls in cupcake holders to avoid them to sticking together.
