For the Los Angeles premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day this week, Zendaya arrived in one of the most dramatic couture creations of the season, turning once again to Saudi designer Ashi Studio to deliver a head-turning look that we won’t soon forget.
Wearing Look 18 from Ashi Studio’s Fall/Winter 2026 couture collection, A Different Skin, the actress who plays Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson in the Marvel film stepped onto the carpet in a sculptural black satin corset punctuated by antennae-like extensions that framed the body. The silhouette exploded into sweeping pleats before cascading into an imposing architectural train, transforming a classic black gown into something almost otherworldly. Styled, as always, by longtime collaborator Law Roach, the look balanced theatrical couture with the confidence that has made Zendaya one of fashion’s most reliable risk-takers.
It also wasn’t the first time she reached for the Saudi couturier while promoting the upcoming superhero film. Just last week, the 29-year-old wore another Ashi Studio design, this time opting for Look 26 from the label’s Spring/Summer 2026 couture collection, The Beginnings. The midnight silk sheer gown featured intricate embroidery across one side, antique-treated threads, and delicate web-like knit detailing, complete with glass tassels and beaded fringe that trailed from the sleeves and down the back. The spiderweb-inspired craftsmanship made it an especially fitting choice for the Spider-Man press tour.
Established in Riyadh by Mohammed Ashi before relocating its atelier to Paris, the house has steadily become one of the most respected names in contemporary couture. In 2023, Ashi made history as the first designer from the Gulf to join the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode’s official couture calendar as a guest member, before becoming a permanent member the following year. His work is instantly recognizable for its architectural silhouettes, sculptural precision, and ability to blur the line between garment and artwork.
That distinctive vision has made him a favorite among some of the world’s biggest stars. Beyoncé has repeatedly worn Ashi Studio on stage and at high-profile events, while Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Naomi Campbell, Queen Rania of Jordan, and Fan Bingbing have all stepped out in his creations. Whether dressing musicians, royalty, or Hollywood’s biggest actors, Ashi has built a reputation for creating pieces that command attention without ever relying solely on embellishment.
With Zendaya once again placing Ashi Studio firmly in the global spotlight, there has never been a better excuse to revisit some of the Saudi house’s most unforgettable celebrity red carpet moments. From gravity-defying couture to impeccably sculpted gowns, these are our favorite recent celebrity looks powered by Ashi Studio.
