But for all the places that have shaped her, Morocco remains firmly in the mix. Not just in the language or references that creep into her own music, but in the artists she listens to and rates. Which, given the sheer amount of rap coming out of the country right now, is probably easier said than done.
Moroccan rap has been moving at breakneck speed for a minute. There are the names everyone knows, sure, but dig a little deeper and there’s an entire sea of untapped artists experimenting with new sounds, building cult followings, and making a strong case for why you need to keep your finger on the pulse at all times.
So, naturally, we asked NISY to put us on. From rappers who’ve been criminally slept on to newer names she thinks are about to blow up, here are the 10 Moroccan rappers she thinks you need to know.

Veintiuno was my first introduction to techno in the Arab world. He really amazed me with his creativity and his music. Then [collaborator] Caspr’s production took everything to another level. The way Caspr plays with the beats is incredible, and I honestly think he’s my new favorite producer in Morocco. Together, the duo created the best collaboration I’ve ever heard come out of Morocco,

He represents a new energy in the Moroccan music scene. His sound, creativity, and way of expressing himself make him stand out. He brings something different, mixing his own style with a unique vision that shows the talent coming from Morocco. Kartman is an artist who deserves more attention because his music has the power to connect with people and show another side of the Moroccan scene.

I think people need to listen to Batemene because he brings a sound that we don’t hear often in Morocco. His music reminds me of soft grunge, with a unique style and a different atmosphere. I found SWING really special because it feels authentic and shows his creativity. He deserves more recognition, and I hope he gets the attention he deserves and blows up in the future.

Oxcy is still an underground artist, but he’s insanely talented. Not many people know him yet, but his music definitely deserves more recognition. His style reminds me of glitch pop and hyperpop—it’s really different.
