With each year that passes, the region’s sonic pulse grows louder, driven by a great deal of local artists that aren’t afraid to experiment and stretch genres to their limits, while simultaneously positioning themselves at the vanguard of global music.

In the Arab world, established artists barely have time to breathe. There’s always a fresh generation right behind them—ambitious, bold, and ready to shake things up.

Keeping the pressure high and the standard even higher, hierarchies in our region don’t last long. Top spots have to be earned again and again. And while last year’s cohort was impressive by every measure, there’s no promise they’ll still hold the crown a few months from now.
