It’s already that time of the year again: The Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA) Prize has announced the 18 designer finalists of the 2025 edition.
They are: ABADIA by Shahd AlShehail from Saudi Arabia, COCCELLATO by Iman Coccellato from Tunisia, and LATE FOR WORK by Moroccan designer Youssef Drissi in the Ready-to-Wear category; Saudi Arabia’s ZIYAD BUAINAIN by Ziyad Albuainain, DANA ALMULLA by Dana AlMulla from Qatar, and ONORI by the UAE’s Sharifa Alsharif Alhashemi in the Eveningwear category; TALEL by Leila Roukni from Morocco, DUHA by Duha Bukadi from Tunisia, and THUNA by Kuwait’s Sharifa Alsulaiti and Altaf Almudhayan in the Accessories category; Patrick Boghossian Jewellery by Patrick Boghossian from Lebanon, FYR JEWELRY by Egyptian designer Farah Radwan, and Clara Chehab Fine jewelry by Clara Chehab from Lebanon in the Jewelry category.
Meanwhile, Alaa Alaradi from Bahrain, Palestinian designer Ayham Hassan, and Fatma Elshabbi from Libya have been selected to compete for the Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award. Rounding out the finalists are AWAD by Assaad Awad from Lebanon, Zahya by Jordan’s Zahia Albakri, and TOUCHLESS by Bahraini duo Fatema and Dalal Alkhaja in the Fashion Tech category.
This year, India joins as the guest country for the 2025 FTA Awards, complete with its own dedicated Guest Country Award. Shortlisted designers in this category include Kartik Research by Kartik Kumra, TIL by Ankur Verma, and AKHL by Akhil Nagpal.
On November 22, the finalists will present their work to the FTA Jury in Doha, before the spotlight shifts to the evening’s ceremony, where seven winners will be crowned.
The winning designers will walk away with cash prizes ranging from $100,000 to $200,000, depending on the scale of their business, while the Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award winner will receive $50,000 to kickstart their career.
But the real prize goes beyond the check. Eveningwear, ready-to-wear, accessories, and jewelry winners will see their collections land in two of fashion’s most coveted destinations: Harrods in London and Ounass in the Middle East, carried for an entire season.
Winners are also plugged into a year-long mentorship with The Bicester Collection, gaining access to invaluable guidance on growing their brands. For the ready-to-wear category, the perks are even bigger: a hands-on internship at Huntsman in London, where the winner will design a capsule collection to be sold directly on the retailer’s e-commerce platform.
On top of it all, every winning designer will head to London for a two-day mentorship program designed exclusively by FTA in collaboration with The Bicester Collection, Brand x Society, and the British Fashion Council. It’s a chance to sharpen their craft, expand their networks, and set the stage for the next chapter in their careers.
