Al Rawabi School for Girls is Making a Comeback

Arguably one of last year’s biggest hits, Netflix’s Al Rawabi School for Girls is being renewed for a second season. As the first of its kind to be written, shot and produced in the Arab World, the coming of age series came as a bombshell upon its release in the summer of 2021. 

The plot, centred around a group of girls in one of Amman’s most prestigious high-schools, probed many taboo and unspoken societal issues alongside its very singular storyline. In essence, the six-episode long program captured the experience of a group of female adolescents as they navigate through the ups and downs of their teen years in the Arab World.

The announcement, which was made earlier today, did not shed too much light on what to expect from this new season, including an official release date. Tima Shomali and Shirin Kamal will return as creators and executive producers, in collaboration with writer Islam Alshomali. Expecting to see much of the initial cast to be back, we’re hoping to see more developments as to time goes by.

Embracing a new era of the women-led TV show to the fullest, to reveal the arrival of the much-anticipated second season, the Al Rawabi School for Girls Administration issued a letter to the student body, ahead of the new school year:
