I honestly have no idea what day it is but I’m pretty sure it’s closer to Thanksgiving than it was yesterday. Anyway. Today let’s talk about POTATOES. These tiny, waxy fellas are crushed (I use my hands which are the only pieces of *special equipment* I own) bc I think even a “mashed potato” should have a little texture (potato purée is basically just thick soup which, honestly, no thx!), and then they’re combined w a mixture of simmered heavy cream, garlic and butter. The garlic gets all tender and soft and you just mash it right into those potatoes, along w sour cream, fresh chives and lots of salt and pepper. To answer some questions: no I don’t think you should make them ahead (potatoes made ahead and reheated are called leftovers), yes there is enough sour cream to make you cry in a good way, and duh of course I’m going to shower the whole thing w more herbs (chives, dill) and a VERY GENEROUS helping of more sour cream bc it’s who I am. @nytcooking recipe link in profile. 🥔🥛🧂 / 📸 graydonherriott 🍴@aelisew #nytthanksgiving

Marinated and pan-seared lamb served with a yogurt sauce that is garlicky, tangy and complements the fragrant + spiced loin chops. Lamb loin chops are like tender mini porterhouse T-bone steaks and cooks up quickly so you’ll have a delicious flavorful dinner with very little hands-on time. __________________ Combine about ½ cup of plain yogurt with 1 tsp. each of ground cumin, coriander and turmeric, along with a couple grinds of black pepper. Season about 6 lamb loin chops with salt and coat with the spiced yogurt mixture. Marinate at room temp for about 20-30 min. __________________ Yogurt sauce: In a small bowl, mix 1 cup plain yogurt with juice from either 1 small or ½ large lemon and 1-2 crushed garlic. Add salt or more lemon to taste. Stir well, then top with a light sprinkling of sumac, urfa biber and a healthy drizzle of olive oil. Set aside. __________________ Heat neutral oil in a cast iron pan over medium-high. When oil is shimmering, wipe off extra marinade (and discard marinade–please do not use the spiced yogurt marinade for your yogurt sauce!! 😝) from the lamb chops and cook 3 chops at a time for about 3 min. on each side for medium-rare. Remove from pan and repeat with remaining chops. Serve right away with the lemony-garlicky yogurt sauce and garnish with parsley, if you’d like. I won’t judge if you eat these baby chops with your hands and gnaw on the bone afterwards. 😅 __________________ Recipe adapted from @epicurious and @bonappetitmag’s ‘Spiced Marinated Lamb Chops with Garlicky Yogurt.’

I felt the love for the LABNEH BROWNIES!!💙♥️ Shukran to everyone who engages with my little food stories☺️ Here is the recipe. I really hope you like them as much as I do xx #Labneh #daliaskitchen 17 oz (500g) dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
5 oz (150g) milk chocolate
¾ cup butter
1 1/2 cups caster sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup flour
3 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
for the Labneh mix:
22 oz (600g) Labneh 1/2 cup sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tsp lemon juice 1. Preheat the oven to 180C. 2. Place the chocolate pieces and butter in the top pan of a double boiler over hot, but not boiling, water. You can also use a glass or metal mixing bowl on top of a saucepan half-full of water. Allow the chocolate to melt, stirring occasionally.
3. Remove the bowl from the heat and add the sugar, eggs and vanilla. Combine all ingredients well together. 4. Sift together the flour, cocoa and salt, then add it to the chocolate mixture. Mix until just combined.
5. In another bowl, combine the Labneh, sugar, yolks and lemon and beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
6. Line a square or rectangle baking dish with parchment paper and pour the brownie mixture into it.
7. Spread the Labneh mixture on top, and using a fork or the tip of a paring knife just swirl the cheese into the chocolate. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
8. Let it cool completely before you slice it into squares. Store in the fridge. Eat and repeat💙

White Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cake with Macadamia Nuts, toasted Coconut Chips and Coconut Cream ✨ I'm a gatherer. I collect flowers, stones and leaves. Sometimes I keep them, sometimes I give everything back to nature. I just like the process of finding the most beautiful stone at the beach, a magically colored leave in the park or the perfectly round chestnut in the forest. I don't need to keep these little treasures, I'm just happy I found them. I also like to collect recipes. Again I don't bookmark anything or keep recipes in a folder. I just like reading them. And sometimes I remember that I had seen a recipe that I really liked. Like today. When I was craving something sweet but didn't want to make a traditional cake. Then I remembered the cookie cake recipe by @_faringwell 💛Lesson learned: Good things happen to gatherers 😋 . . . . . . #lifeandthyme #eattheworld #cntravelereats #foodandwine #makeitdelicious #vzcomade #appetitejournal #gatheringslikethese #simplepleasures #inspiremyinstagram #hautecuisines #tablesituation #untoldvisuals #smallthings #kinfolklife #huffposttaste #myopenkitchen #thehappynow #beautifulcuisines #thelifestylecollective #mycommontable #simplethingsmadebeautiful #thatsdarling #gatheredstyle #click_vision #morningscenes #goop #f52grams #saveur
