Arabs in Paris: Saudi Label Abadia Is Heading to Galeries Lafayette in France

Shortly after debuting on global retailers Harvey Nichols and Net-a-Porter, Saudi womenswear label Abadia is heading to the iconic Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann until June 25 as part of the department store’s “Le Nouveau Cool” month, which is a 27-day celebration of sustainability. The ethical womenswear label— known for incorporating the traditional weaving technique of Sadu—founded by Shahd AlShehail in 2016 will showcase its most recent spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection in a pop-up space situated on the second floor overlooking the great glass dome.

“My goal has always been to put fashion and craftsmanship from the Arabian peninsula on the global map,” says AlShehail. And she’s doing just that. In addition to introducing her luxury brand— which supports local artisans and sustains the Kingdom’s cultural heritage— to a whole new audience of shoppers, Abadia will also be presenting during Paris Fashion Week in June, further expanding its international footprint and proving that Saudi artisanship holds a valuable place in the contemporary fashion landscape.
