Art D’Égypte Announces Dates For 2025 Edition

coming (back) sooooon!

Gearing up for its fifth edition, organizers of Art D’Égypte Forever Is Now have officially started teasing all there is to know about the next iteration of the cultural extravaganza, scheduled to take place this fall.

Set to get underway between Oct.30 – Nov. 22, the great pyramids of Giza will once again welcome a slew of artworks from artists hailing from Egypt, the Arab World, the African continent, and beyond. Held in partnership with the Italian Embassy in Cairo and the Italian Institute of Culture in Cairo, of the many artists expected to present their work in the Land of the Pharaohs,  it’s been confirmed that Michelangelo Pistoletto will be part of this year’s line up.

One of the towering figures of contemporary art, the founder of the Arte Povera movement is set to unveil a large-scale installation against the backdrop of one of the The Seven Wonders of the World. And from what’s been revealed, his forthcoming piece of work will mark “a fusion of artistic legacy and ancient history that promises to captivate the world,” per a recently shared press release.

“Having Michelangelo Pistoletto join Forever Is Now .05 is a historic moment for Egypt and for global contemporary art, and bringing his voice to the Pyramids is not just symbolic, it’s visionary,” Nadine Abdel Ghaffar, Founder of Art D’Égypte by CulturVator, said of Pistoletto’s participation.

“I take the invitation from Art d’Egypte and the collaboration with Italian Institute of Culture as an opportunity to build a bridge across the mediterranean sea that connects Venice and Cairo through the same artwork, a symbol of creation, balance, harmony and peace, the most urgent cures we need, now, everywhere,” Paolo Naldini, Director of Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte, added.

Best known for his iconic Mirror Paintings, which invite viewers into the artwork itself, and for establishing Cittadellarte, a multidisciplinary center for social change through art, Pistoletto continues to push boundaries well after six decades, adding yet another milestone to his already impressive creative journey.
