Arwa Al Banawi’s Hotly-Anticipated Adidas Sneaker is Here

The Saudi designer is back with another major collab

Few designers have shaped Saudi Arabia’s fashion scene like Arwa Al Banawi. Since launching her eponymous brand in 2015, the Jeddah native has become synonymous with the ‘Saudi dream’, ever faithful to putting her Arab heritage on the forefront.

And her latest collaboration with adidas Originals is yet another testament. Al Banawi turned to her spirit animal, the Ibex (or Capra, which translates to ‘Mountain Goat Family’) for inspiration.

Reimagining adidas’ iconic Forum silhouette, the designer blends desert-esque tones in suede with leather and gold-foil detailing. The sneaker is complete with hand-stitched embroidery and woven red and white houndstooth pattern inspired by traditional Middle Eastern fabrics as a nod to Al Banawi’s roots.

Shot by Iraqi-Omani photographer duo Chebmoha and Chndy, the campaign sees Palestinian-Syrian model Lana Albeik surrounded by farm goats in Dubai’s rocky landscapes.

The Arwa Al Banawi Forum Lo sneaker will launch as part of an early access limited sale online for GCC shoppers exclusively from Al Ula on May 25. Global and select retailers in the gulf will host the collab as of May 28.
