Ashi Studio Is the First Saudi Brand Invited To Show at Paris Haute Couture Week

congrats!

Ashi Studio has been made a guest member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, making the Saudi maison one of the handful fashion houses that are officially on the haute couture calendar. This also makes Mohammed Ashi the first couturier from the GCC to be inducted into one of France’s most elite fashion clubs and benefit from the prestigious haute couture label. He will show his next collection on the official calendar on July 6 during Paris Haute Couture Week.

The status is granted to a select few by the French Ministry of Industry and the Fédération Française de la Couture, the governing body for the French couture industry and is a big deal in the fashion world.

”This appointment is the highlight of my career,” Ashi said in a statement. “I will honor it in the memory of the great couturiers who came before me and whom I now join in the pursuit of this grand tradition of excellence in creativity and savoir-faire,” he added.

Ashi founded his label in 2006 in Saudi Arabia, before relocating to Paris in 2018. Known for his dramatic tailoring and structural silhouettes, the Saudi-born designer’s striking creations have been worn by major Hollywood stars and celebrities, such as Lady Gaga, Zendaya, Beyonce, and more.

He joins other Arab guest members on the couture calendar this July, including Lebanese designers Zuhair Murad and Georges Hobeika.
