Half-Palestinian supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid have donated $1 million to support various Palestinian relief efforts, it’s been revealed. According to Bella’s representative, the money will equally be shared between four humanitarian organizations— namely Heal Palestine, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, World Central Kitchen and UNRWA— which all work towards providing critical aid to all those affected by the ongoing wave of terror across occupied territories.

The two sisters— who are direct descendants of former ruler of Palestine and Sheikh of Galilee Daher Al Omer— have repeatedly been seen using their respective platforms to raise awareness and shed light on the plight of their people, especially since Oct. 7.

Last week, Bella made headlines for wearing an archival creation by American label Michael and Hushi at Cannes Film Festival. The dress, from 2001, was inspired by the Palestinian Keffiyeh, and rapidly sparked conversations for its cultural significance amidst the ongoing genocide in Gaza. On her side, the 27-year-old described the outfit as “a beautiful way to represent the history, labour of love, resilience and, most importantly, the art of historic Palestinian embroidery.”

Inside Gaza, the situation continues to worsen as the death toll nears 40,000 while thousands more suffer from severe injuries, shortages of essential supplies, and the collapse of vital infrastructures. While talks of a permanent ceasefire are currently being explored, the humanitarian crisis continues to deteriorate, making the Hadid sisters’ donation more crucial than ever.
