It’s only February, but most of us have already had enough of 2020 – Kylie Jenner even tweeted about it. The year that began with prime optimism isn’t shaping up the way we all hoped it would.
Just two months in, we’re already in the midst of a Coronavirus outbreak that has led to multiple cities being quarantined, racism towards Chinese people has become normalised due to aforementioned health crisis, Kobe Bryant unexpectedly passed away, and mercury going into retrograde has caused every millennial’s anxiety to peak.
But the silver lining is that this year has also come with its fair share of memes to lighten the mood. This year’s meme season kicked off with an Oscars win by everyone’s new favourite director Bong Joon Ho, who decided (among many other things) to make his Oscars kiss on the red carpet. It was then followed by a Grammy’s red carpet that was not short of meme-worthy looks.
