Earlier this month, 18-year-old superstar Billie Eilish launched her podcast “Me & Dad Radio”, which sees Eilish and her father share the music they have each picked up from each other.

“My dad has shown me some of my favourite songs in the world and I’ve shown him songs that he loves and adores also”, stated the four times Grammy Award winner to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.

Billie Eilish and her dadSpanning decades and genres, the podcast includes an immense variety of songs, from the mainstream to the indie. Case in point: Nancy Ajram.

In the latest episode, Eilish played a song from the cult Lebanese pop-singer, declaring: “I’m going to cheer myself up by playing a very special song to me that’s in Arabic. This is Nancy Ajram who I love. I loooove Nancy Ajram and this song”.

Eilish explained how she was first introduced to Ajram after her 2004 song Enta Eih was featured in a viral meme online, and has since been obsessed with Fi Hagat, a 2010-released song taken from Ajram’s album Nancy 7.

“The way Arabic music sounds is just like melted chocolate in my ears”, she said when her dad asked how she felt about not understanding the lyrics. She then went on and confessed that she used to listen to the song 24/7 back in December 2018.

Although Nancy Ajram has already made her voice heard worldwide, this Billie Eilish co-sign is about to take her into even bigger realms and a much younger audience.
