the wait is over

In March, French luxury maison Celine announced that its launching Celine Beaute, the first beauty line in its 78-year history— and now its finally here. The first product launch from the Hedi Slimane-designed range is a red satin-finish lipstick, titled “Rouge Triomphe,” with 15 more colors set to become available in January 2025. Embossed with the LVMH-owned label’s couture monogram and encased in a sleek gold tube, the new product can be purchased at all Celine stores.

The refillable formula is composed of 89% naturally derived ingredients and boasts a delicate rose scent. The lipstick’s bullet is also embossed with the couture monogram and housed in a faceted golden case, of which Slimane drew inspiration from the gold jewelry of Louis XV, French-style classicism, and art deco design. Too pretty to be stuffed into your vanity case, the new product is accompanied with luxury accessories, including a lipstick case in Triomphe canvas with a chain that could double as a purse on a night out.

The lipstick is just the beginning— they will later be joined by lip balms, mascara, eyeliners, loose powder and blush, and nail polishes, which will be debuted each season. However, it’s not Slimane’s first foray into beauty. In 2019, the French couturier unveiled Celine’s first fragrance collection a year-and-a-half into his tenure, with 11 perfumes.
