Chanel’s Café Mademoiselle has officially made its way to Dubai. Last night, Sept. 9, the French house took over
Bisou at Dubai Opera Plaza to celebrate the arrival of its newest fragrance, Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu, and naturally, your average dinner reservation was nowhere to be found.
For the evening, the French restaurant was transformed into a fully Chanel-coded café, complete with branded drinks, a flower station, photo booth and personalized fragrance experience. Guests could discover Crush Absolu alongside the wider Coco Mademoiselle fragrance line and some of Chanel Beauty’s latest makeup launches.
The café concept has been traveling internationally as part of the fragrance’s launch, with iterations appearing everywhere from Hong Kong to Singapore before landing in Dubai. It also borrows directly from the world Chanel has built around Crush Absolu, whose campaign stars singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams and unfolds inside a Parisian café.
The timing is particularly fitting considering Coco Mademoiselle turns 25 this year. Originally created by Jacques Polge in 2001, the fragrance became one of Chanel’s modern signatures with its citrus, rose, jasmine, patchouli, and vetiver composition. A quarter-century later, Jacques’ son and Chanel’s current in-house perfumer-creator Olivier Polge has given it another spin.
Crush Absolu goes sweeter, fruitier and warmer, opening with lychee and grapefruit before moving through rose and jasmine into patchouli, vanilla, vetiver and ambery notes.
Twenty-five years later, Coco Mademoiselle has given us something new to crush on.
