Chanel’s Reach For the Stars High Jewelry Collection Lands in Dubai

Originally unveiled in Kyoto last year, the Reach for the Stars high jewelry collection reimagines Chanel’s holy trinity of symbols—comets, wings, and lions—through pieces that float, flex, drape, and glow with impossible lightness. And now, for the first time since its debut, Reach for the Stars has touched down in Dubai. The traveling exhibition is taking over Chanel’s watch and jewelry flagship at The Dubai Mall for five glimmering days, before continuing its orbit to London. It’s an almost-too-brief window—blink and you’ll miss it—but that ephemerality suits the collection, which was born from the magic of a sky in transition.

Dubai’s stop is also deliciously-privileged with two pieces that have never been seen anywhere else, including a pair of glittering earrings in the shape of a winged lion traced in pave diamonds that dissolve into a waterfall of pearls (the only time pearls appear in this collection) and a statement necklace that begins with a star at the collarbone before curving into a sculptural lion motif. The stones in both pieces vary in cut and size, giving the piece a texture that feels both airy and imposing.

Dreams Come True Necklace

Elsewhere in the exhibition, the drama only intensifies. Winged motifs erupt across nearly every silhouette, each one reinterpreting the collection’s celestial language with its own personality. A fiery gold-and-diamond necklace unfurls like a sunrise, its openwork wings sculpted in warm yellow brilliance before tapering into an icy constellation of marquise-cut diamonds and a dangling star. There’s also a dramatic fringe necklace drenched in blue gems that fall like rain, anchored by a winged lion rendered in diamonds and capped with a star. The piece de resistance? A pink-centered showpiece with diamond wings opening around an incandescent padparadscha gemstone, from which a long column of circular diamonds drops all the way down the torso, ending in (what else?) a star.

In every corner, the codes repeat—wings, comets, stars, lions—but never the same way twice. Each piece, designed by jeweler Patrice Leguéreau, pushes the limits of light, scale, articulation, and spectacle. And for the collectors wondering, yes, the pieces are available to purchase, if you can reach them before they vanish into someone else’s orbit.
