Converse Pays Tribute to the Middle East With New Sneaker

An ode to Dubai’s cult Chai spot Project Chaiwala

Anyone who knows the Middle East knows how much chai is loved in the region.

So it should be no surprise that sportswear giant Converse would tap Dubai’s favourite chai spot Project Chaiwala for their first regional collaboration.

Two years since having launched, Project Chaiwala has become a Dubai-staple, thanks to their modern-twist on the traditional tea.

The new sneakers come in a limited edition run and have been designed by Dubai-based bespoke sneaker experts Waxfeller.

It’s the perfect tribute to Dubai’s street culture,” says Ahmed Kazim, one-part of Waxfeller.
