If we’re being totally honest, the only plus side to winter is layering. For us, it’s the one moment of the year we can dig through our wardrobes and bring out our forgotten cozy jumpers, hoodies, and long-sleeve tees to keep us warm while helping us express our style in the loudest of ways. Put it this way, the number of sartorial combinations are almost infinite given the usually low temperatures during these times, whereas there’s only so much you can wear under the summer sun.
Whether we want to justify our next spending spree with the above reasoning or not is one thing, but ultimately, there’s always a good incentive to go window shopping and when payday comes, splash that cash and finally get our hands on the most-wanted gems on our online wishlist. With Black Friday just around the corner, here are five of our favorite rising brands you definitely need to add to your winter wardrobe.

Part of the 100 Saudi brands invited to showcase their sartorial work last Milan Fashion Week, Torba Studio is the brainchild of Sara Alameel and Nazek Alkhulaifi who created a brand that “takes its inspiration from the mystery and philosophy of the unknown, spirit and the afterlife.” Founded in 2018, the label has slowly made a name for itself with pieces that explore the space between the more traditional and the less conventional.
SALAD (@wear_salad)
Salad is one of the brands that’s piqued our interest since the end of the summer. The Jordanian brand is a spin-off of FabricAID (A Lebanese and Amman-based social enterprise working to establish a socially and environmentally conscious impact in the apparel industry), and seeks to make recycling and genderless clothing cool again by using dead-stock materials and sustainable techniques of production to birth collections that are not only unique but very modern and cutting-edge.
Maison Banu (@maisonbanu)
Launched in 2004, La Maison Banu is a Persian label that keeps it in the family. Based in both Baku and Tehran for the past 20 years, the founder’s niece recently decided to take over the brand and bring it over to one of the world’s esteemed capitals of fashion: Paris. Their latest collection, dubbed The Silk Road Rose, delves into the history of the iconic route exploring the subregion from Delhi to Bukhara to Isfahan and Herat. Sustainable (as all fabrics used come from old clothes and carpets made in Iran, or bought in local shops in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, or Afghanistan) and for women by women, the Maison Banu is the conscious label to check it out right now.
Sentire Studio (@sentire.studio)
Hailing from Spain, Sentire Studio is breaking the typical cannons of fashion at the core of its identity. The label’s modernistic approach seeks to ignite each one of its customer’s emotions while highlighting their own personal style. Meticulously designed for bold creatives through ample creations that play with pastel tones, shoppers are guaranteed to look trendy and cool without needing to compromise on their ethical and sustainable principles.
AFFXWRKS (@affxwrks)
We would be lying if we said that we weren’t great fans of AFFXWRKS. The brand’s designs are quite difficult to describe given the amount of ingenuity and creativity distilled in each one of its items. From hoodies with integrated light-reactive phosphorescent patches to nylon tote bags that turn into waterproof groundsheets, the tech-wear label’s aesthetic is harnessed to almost perfection making them one of the brands to follow closely and even bet on to become one of the fashion scene’s faves.
