It’s official: Cristiano Ronaldo is extending his Saudi stint by two more years. The Portuguese star has just announced signing a new deal with Al Nassr, the Riyadh-based club he has represented since January 2023. For an additional two seasons, the five time Ballon D’Or winner will continue to play under his current club’s banner, continuing his role in shaping one of football’s fastest-growing leagues.
In his new contract, the 40-year-old will remain one of the highest-paid athletes in the world, expected to make 400M over the course of the next two years with the Saudi club. He will be tied to the club until June 2027.

This extension not only ensures he remains in peak condition to compete in one last World Cup edition, but also opens the door to potentially surpassing the historic milestone of 1000 career goals scored by one player. What’s more, he might even be able to share the pitch with his 14-year-old son, Cristiano Jr, which could mark a rare father-son moment in professional football.
In a recent video with renowned American YouTuber-slash-philanthropist Mr. Beast, Cristiano Jr. was asked, “Did you see LeBron (James) play with his son? Would you like to do the same with your father?” To which he responded, “Inch’Allah, Inch’Allah. I hope so.”
It remains to be seen where this dream could come true, but for now, all signs point to Saudi Arabia, where both father and son are currently playing—and will continue to play— for different age-categories at Al Nassr.
