A few short weeks after Jonathan Anderson parted ways with LOEWE, it seems the British designer has found his rebound— at Dior Homme. The 40-year-old designer, who spent over a decade shaping the identity of the Spanish luxury house, has officially been confirmed as the new creative director at Dior Men, following months and months of rumors.
The much-coveted position was formerly occupied by British couturier Kim Jones. In his new role, Anderson will oversee Dior’s menswear departments, including ready-to-wear and accessories. He is expected to make his debut at Paris Fashion Week in June.
According to circulating rumors, womenswear may also become part of his remit, though Dior has yet to officially confirm whether his role will expand beyond what’s been announced so far.
The move was announced during an internal meeting led by Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH — the luxury conglomerate that owns Christian Dior along with a portfolio of other prestigious labels. Answering a question from a shareholder, Arnault allegedly confirmed Anderson’s appointment. Dior has yet to make an official announcement.
For over a decade, Jonathan Anderson has treated LOEWE as both canvas and muse; a space where he could experiment freely while imprinting his distinct sartorial DNA on every collection. Evolving in tandem with the Madrid-based house that first welcomed him in, Anderson cemented his place as one of the boldest designers of his generation, reshaping the contours of 21st-century luxury entirely on his own terms.
With less than two months to go before his official debut under a new banner, only time will tell whether he’ll stay true to his signature gender-fluid silhouettes or chart a new course aligned with Dior’s storied codes.
