This is How to Donate to #BLM If You Have No Money

Watching this YouTube video is also an act of support

Since the death of George Floyd on May 25, uprisings against police brutality have gone international. From Minnesota to Paris and even Syria and Sydney – thousands of people across the world are standing together in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

But if you want to take your anti-racism action to the next level, donating is something you need to consider. Money is needed right now to support George Floyd’s family, bail out protestors who have been arrested and support the various organisations doing the work on the ground (Black Lives Matter, Black Visions Collective and Reclaim the Block to name just a few).

Naturally, not everyone can afford to donate, particularly young POCs, who are simultaneously trying to survive one of the toughest economic crises ever. But thanks to Zoe Amira, there are now ways for you to raise money for the cause, without needing to spend a penny.

Using a self-created hour-long YouTube video that features art, poetry and music from black creatives, simply by watching the video (without an ad blocker, and actually watch the ads) will raise money. Amira says she will be donating 100 per cent of ad revenue gained from the video to a selection of organisations supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.
