Dubai Fashion Week Is Officially Back on the Calendar

It’s been a strange few months for the UAE’s usually packed cultural calendar. Concerts were postponed, festivals were called off, flights were disrupted and, for a while, even some of the country’s biggest annual events came with question marks attached as the war in the region forced organizers across the Gulf to rethink their plans. Now, the calendar is beginning to fill up again.

Formula One recently confirmed that the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will go ahead in December. BRED, which cancelled its April edition amid the regional conflict, has announced a two-day return in November with Bryson Tiller and Central Cee. And now, the fashion crowd can officially start planning their outfits: Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) has confirmed its next edition will take place from Oct. 22 to 26.

Returning to Dubai Design District (d3), the Spring/Summer 2027 edition will bring five days of runway shows, presentations, and industry programming back to the city. Designer applications are currently open, with the final lineup still to be announced.

Co-founded by d3 and the Arab Fashion Council, Dubai Fashion Week has spent the past several seasons trying to make Dubai a permanent fixture on the international fashion calendar, while giving designers from the region a platform alongside increasingly big international names.

The timing of its return couldn’t be better. Dubai Fashion Week has traditionally positioned itself ahead of the major fashion month circuit, which runs through New York, London, Milan ,and Paris, giving buyers and editors an early look at collections coming out of Dubai and the wider region. The SS27 edition will once again bring designers together with buyers, retailers, media, and other industry figures, with a dedicated Buyers Programme offering showroom appointments, collection previews, and opportunities for commercial partnerships.

Over the past few editions, DFW has managed to pull increasingly recognizable names into its orbit, such as Roberto Cavalli, Moschino, and Alberta Ferretti, while regional labels have been given a larger international spotlight. The event is now the city’s official fashion week, operating from a district that has become home to many of the region’s fashion, art and design businesses.

For now, organizers are keeping the SS27 designer lineup under wraps, meaning the runway schedule, international guests, and inevitable celebrity front-row apperarances will have to wait. Applications are currently being reviewed by Dubai Fashion Week’s Selection Committee, which will determine the designers joining October’s program.
