Beyond the obvious sonic chemistry that binds them, the two also happened to have crossed paths on the small screen. Ziad Zaza— who’s made his ambitions in cinema clear since appearing in the Cannes-nominated feature Aisha Can’t Fly Away — was recently cast in Egyptian series Midterm, a show that follows “a group of Egyptian and Arab students as they navigate academic pressure, emotional struggles, and the search for identity amid the real challenges facing today’s youth.”
Also starring the young and promising Yasmine El Abd, Zaza—who plays Yazan—appears alongside Lege-Cy, who makes a brief cameo in the coming-of-age television program performing on stage as himself in one of its episodes.
