The Arab drama scene is in one of its best eras, marked by an uptick in production and a surge of fresh content. Streaming platforms like Watch It and Shahid are making it easier than ever for viewers to dive into new series year-round, breaking free from the traditional Ramadan lineup. Every month brings something exciting, from Arabic adaptations of popular Turkish dramas to original works inspired by Arab culture and daily life, creating shows that truly hit home for viewers.

Just last month, Iman Al-Asi stepped into her first lead role in a series on Watch It, while fans were thrilled to see Ahmed Malik and Huda El-Mufti team up again in a new Shahid show. Amid all this buzz, Watch It has unveiled the official poster for Iqama Jabriya, featuring actress Hana El-Zahed, who is currently at the peak of her artistic career and gearing up to portray a character filled with complexity and challenges.

El-Zahed takes on the role of a pharmacist battling internal conflicts as she navigates her interactions with men, drawing viewers into her struggles. Mohamed El-Sharnoubi plays a world champion swimmer (his first lead role in a television series after a two-year hiatus), while Sabreen stars as his mother, a psychiatrist who becomes an essential part of El-Zahed’s journey.

Also joining the cast is Tharaa Jbeil, Mahmoud El-Bazawy, and Aida Riyad. Written by Ahmed Adel and directed by Ahmed Samir Farag, Iqama Jabriya will unfold over 10 episodes, perfectly suited for weekend binging.

Director Ahmed Samir Farag brings significant experience to the table, having helmed iconic films like A’azz Ashab and successful series such as Nisr Al-Saeed. He has a knack for crafting gripping narratives that showcase the actors’ talents, leading us to have high hopes for this project.

Meanwhile, El-Zahed is stepping into a new realm with this role, moving away from her usual comedic parts to embrace a character that demands emotional depth. This presents a true challenge for her as an actress. Will she manage to convey new emotions to her audience after successfully making them laugh in the past? Her on-screen reunion with El-Sharnoubi, whom she previously starred with in Helwa El-Donia Sokar, raises further anticipation.

Additionally, Iqama Jabriya marks Sabreen’s debut in platform drama, adding a touch of warmth and nostalgia that is sure to resonate with audiences. As she delivers a heartfelt performance, viewers will be eager to see how her character develops in this new context.
