Sabato De Sarno is leaving his role as Gucci’s creative director after two years, a position he took over in January 2023 following Alessandro Michele. His tenure, which saw him honor Gucci’s craftsmanship and heritage, will conclude with the Gucci design studio leading the Fall/Winter 2025 runway show at Milan Fashion Week this month. De Sarno’s career prior to Gucci included significant roles at Valentino, Prada, and Dolce & Gabbana. Gucci has not yet announced his successor.

“I sincerely thank Sabato for his loyalty and professionalism. I am proud of the work that has been done to further strengthen Gucci’s fundamentals. Stefano and the new artistic direction will continue to build on this and to guide Gucci towards renewed fashion leadership and sustainable growth,” added Francesca Bellettini, deputy CEO of Gucci’s parent company, Kering.

L’Oréal Acquires Jacquemus Beauty

L’Oréal Groupe has formed a long-term, exclusive beauty partnership with Jacquemus, the Paris-based independent fashion label founded in 2009 by Simon Porte Jacquemus, known for its sensational and viral fashion shows at unique locations like the lavender fields and the canal of Chateau de Versailles. The partnership includes a minority investment by L’Oréal to support Jacquemus’ expansion, particularly as the brand moves into physical retail spaces. “15 years ago, I began dreaming of and creating Jacquemus, with perfume and beauty always part of my vision for the brand,” said the French designer in a statement. “Today, I am proud to continue shaping this dream with the leading beauty group, L’Oréal. I’m excited to see what the future holds for us.”

Here’s a bit of fashion news no one was expecting: Casey Cadwallader is reportedly leaving his position as creative director at Mugler, where he has been since 2018, having previously worked at Marc Jacobs, Loewe, Narciso Rodriguez, and Acne Studios. His departure might explain Mugler’s absence from the provisional Paris Fashion Week calendar for March, as noted by WWD, with rumors of him possibly leaving as early as Spring 2025. His tenure included significant milestones like the SS25 collection presentation, the release of the documentary “Inside the Dream: Mugler” celebrating the house’s 50th anniversary, and collaborations with Manfred Thierry Mugler, who had returned as a creative advisor in 2013. Mugler’s team has yet to confirm Cadwallader’s exit.

2025 Met Gala Unveils Dress Code and Host Committee

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has set the theme for its upcoming Met Gala as “Tailored for You,” aligning with its exhibit focused on the evolution of suiting and menswear, particularly Black style through the centuries. This year marks the first time in over 20 years that the Met Gala will exclusively celebrate menswear. The event will also reintroduce a “host committee” alongside the gala’s previously announced hosts—Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky, and LeBron James, with Vogue editor Anna Wintour continuing her role in overseeing the gala. The newly added committee features a diverse group of high-profile figures including athletes Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens, filmmakers Spike Lee and Regina King, actors like Ayo Edebiri and Audra McDonald, musicians including Usher and Janelle Monáe, author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, artists such as Jordan Casteel and Kara Walker, playwrights Jeremy O. Harris and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, and fashion luminaries like Grace Wales Bonner and Olivier Rousteing.

Dolce & Gabbana Presents Ramadan 2025 Collection

Italian luxury label Dolce & Gabbana has just unveiled its latest collection, in time for Ramadan 2025. Designed to honor, sartorially, the annual religious observance, the new line has both men and women in mind through two separate assortments, both intended to offer a neat blend of modesty and style.

In the womenswear department, romantic floral motifs— reminiscent of the brand’s iconic scarf patterns— breathe life into each garment, “transforming them into true poems of color.” The sand and terracotta-inspired palette— alongside more vibrant shades such as emerald green, garnet red, midnight blue— lend a rich and luxurious feel to the collection, imbuing dresses, caftans, long skirts, and pyjamas, for a radiant yet relaxed look. That said, the real showstopper is in the accessories department, with the iconic Sicily and Marlene bags being treated to a fancy makeover, now decked in sparkling multicolored crystals that re-imagine its initial design by adding an extra-touch of sophistication to these two classics pieces.

When it comes to menswear, the collection features a selection of refined yet practical pieces, including tailored shirts paired with either sleek trousers, bermuda shorts, and separates, all stitched together from light and lush fabrics such as linen, silk, twill, poplin, and piqué cotton, with a color range that stretches from different shades of white, beige, and dark brown to khaki, burgundy, blue, and grey, with geometric logo prints that all nod to the world of neckties.

What’s more, the children’s collection draws heavy inspiration from the adult lines, so the entire family can rock coordinated fits. Our favorites on this front? The cozy blankets and sleeping bags that will adamantly make family time during the holy month even more special.

The collection is now available at select flagship boutiques across the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Turkey, as well as in Milan, Paris, and London, and can also be purchased online here.
