Fashion Trust Arabia Announces Inaugural Prize Winners

It’s been a year since fashion philanthropist Tania Fares set her eyes on the region’s designers and launched non-profit organisation Fashion Trust Arabia. After much anticipation, the six winners of its inaugural prize have officially been announced.

 

At last night’s ceremony, 25 finalists presented their collections to an impressive star-studded judging panel comprised of LVMH’s Antoine Arnault, Valentino’s Pier Paolo Piccioli, Victoria Beckham, Haider Ackermann, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Olivier Rousteing to name a few.

 

 

 

Lebanese design was at the forefront with womenswear designers Salim Azzam and Roni Helou scoring the ready-to-wear prize, Krikor Jabotian winning in eveningwear and the Mukhi Sisters label winning the prize for best jewellery.

 

 

Meanwhile Egyptian design duo Ahmed Sabry and Daki Marouf won the award for best handbag design with their brand Sabry Marouf, and Moroccan label Zyne snagged the prize fr best footwear.

 

 

 

The winners will receive a prize of up to $200,000 as well as mentorship from Fashion Trust Arabia’s exclusive committee including MILLE board member Saif Mahdhi.
