Located in Midtown Manhattan on 36th Street and 7th Avenue is the newly opened Moxy Times Square – the boutique hotel that’s bringing a much-needed design overhaul to the city’s hotel scene.

The 612 room hotel—which is housed in a historic building that dates back to 1907—is set across a sprawling 2000 square-metre space that doesn’t sacrifice on style or comfort (despite it’s incredibly reasonable room rate).

With guest rooms ranging in size from 150 to 350 feet—designed by architecture firm Stonehill & Taylor—the Moxy’s entire design ethos is based on its unique blend of functionality and Instagram-ability.

From the service you get upon checking in (there’s no fuddy old hotel lobby – instead, guests check in with a standalone staff member) to the hotel’s internal deli, the New Stand, (which offers everything from magazines and toothbrushes to mini-piñatas) the Moxy’s aim is to be the hotel for visiting young creative. With an unbeatable price (rooms are known to sink to as little as $99 a night when booked ultra-last minute) meaning you can spend your entire NYC stay in a hotel, rather than couch surfing or Airbnb’ing.

Even if you’re not looking for somewhere to crash, you can slide by the hotel to grab a drink at Bar Moxy or a bite at Legasea (the hotel’s seafood brasserie helmed by executive chef Jason Hall) or nurse your night out at Egghead (the hotel’s all-day breakfast spot).

“Moxy pushes the envelope, so we tossed out the rulebook,” says Toni Stoeckl, the hotel’s Global Brand Leader and Vice President, “We set out to create a new paradigm within the New York hotel scene by bringing together the best-in-class in design, food & beverage and retail. The result has been a hotel experience like no other – fun, edgy, playful, and all at a killer price.”

Rooms at The Moxy start from $234 per night
