Saudi Fashion Week Returns For its Second Edition

Here’s everything we know so far

After a year full of reformation in Saudi Arabia has seen women gaining the right to drive, a push towards tourism, and the lifting of the ban on cinemas—the Kingdom looks to be continuing with its move towards progressivism, this time by hosting the second edition of Saudi Fashion Week.

With an ever-growing fashion scene in the gulf nation, Princess Noura Bin Faisal Al Saud organized and hosted the first edition last April in none other than Saudi’s capital. The event attracted a host of regional and international designers and guestsincluding some of fashion’s biggest names including Roberto Cavalli and Jean-Paul Gaultier and none other than the nation’s very own Arwa Al Banawi

For its second edition, which is scheduled to be held between October 21-25, the event will feature Al Banawi’s latest collection, as well as the work of Yahya Al Bishri, Lama Askari, Yanina Couture among others who have yet to be revealed.

In a bid to support up-and-coming local talent, the event will also include a ‘Top Emerging Saudi Designers’ program, designed to prompt the careers of six designers chosen by the nation’s esteemed fashion community.

The second edition of Saudi Fashion Week will be held at Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh from October 21-25.
