Looks like we’ve got a royal wedding to look forward to. According to TMZ, rapper French Montana is officially engaged to Dubai’s Sheikha Mahra, daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE’s Prime Minister and current ruler of Dubai. The engagement reportedly took place during Paris Fashion Week in June, where the Moroccan-American rapper (born Karim Kharbouch) made his runway debut walking for 3.Paradis’ Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear show.

That same week, the couple hard‑launched their relationship on Instagram—walking hand in hand in Paris and sharing a now‑iconic Love Lock‑bridge image, cementing months of speculation and leaving no doubt about their status. The two were first linked together in 2024. The princess posted pictures with French Montana at Nammos Dubai, the celeb-loved restaurant tucked inside the Four Seasons Resort in Jumeirah. They were also seen riding camels in the desert.

For Sheikha Mahra, the engagement comes just a year after she made headlines with her very public divorce from Sheikh Mana Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum. The 31-year-old took to social media to end her marriage using the traditional Islamic method of triple talaq, stating “I divorce you” three times. “Dear Husband. As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, I divorce you,” she wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post. She followed it up by releasing a perfume called “Divorce,” turning heartbreak into a sold-out fragrance.

And then there’s French Montana’s story. Born in Casablanca, he immigrated to the Bronx as a teenager, where he hustled his way into music after a stint as a teenage dealer. In 2003, he survived a near-fatal headshot during a robbery attempt, an incident that could have ended his life before his career even started. Instead, he doubled down on rap, carving out a lane with his Cocaine City DVDs and a string of raw, street-level mixtapes that cemented him as a cult name in New York hip-hop.

From there, Montana went commercial—signing deals, collaborating with everyone from Rick Ross to Drake, and delivering massive hits like Pop That and Unforgettable. And now, after two decades in the game, the Moroccan-born, Bronx-raised rapper is about to marry into one of the most powerful royal families in the Gulf. It’s a trajectory that no one could have scripted.
