6 Predictions from Michel Hayek

He was right about last year…

Partying or drawing up resolutions that we’ll never achieve might be your typical New Year’s Eve activities, but in Lebanon, part of the night is spent watching MTV.

No, they’re not catching up on the latest Catfish episode. Michel Hayek, a psychic, has become a staple New Year’s tradition, with his annual predictions announced throughout the night.

The Christian psychic – who has been known to hold private meetings with several heads of state to share his visions – has previously predicted the pandemic by saying a disease reminiscent of the swine flu and mad cow disease was going to spread globally.

He also seemingly predicted the recent explosion in the Beirut port, by saying he pictured fire, ash and smoke at the port of Beirut.

For devout Muslims, Hayek’s ‘predictions’ might cross the line, with Islam classifying any form of fortune telling as haram, but there’s no denying there’s something spooky about this. Astrology enthusiasts would probably agree.

With Hayek fittingly predicting 2020 to be ‘the year of insanity,’ his legion of fans have been anticipating his latest forecast. And just last week, Hayek made an unexpected appearance on the Aljadeed television channel for an exclusive interview, where he satiated their appetites by unveiling a few premonitions ahead of the new year.

Here, MILLE has rounded up some of the juiciest and most significant predictions.

An investigation of Lebanon’s politicians will expose and provide evidence of corruption.

The road to recovery for Lebanon has already began and it’ll take another year for a full revival.

For those who can’t access their funds at Lebanese banks, their wealth will return and the Lebanese pound will recover.

Artists will enter the political world in Lebanon and Syria.

The coronavirus will end with a simple and even silly cure, and will be followed by investigations of the source of the virus with several revelations.

Two miracles will save Lebanon from its problems with health and the economy.
