Blind Date Tinder

You Can Now Go on a Blind Date Via Tinder

Bringing the old ways of flirting back to the front stage

Blind Date Tinder

Valentine’s day is just over and who you spent it with dictates the state of your love life. If you’re single like the rest of us, you know that looking for a significant other isn’t as easy as it used to be anymore. Unless you’re Simon Leviev, of course.

It would probably be a lot harder without Tinder, though. Founded in the early 2010s, the app is a millennial go-to. With a number of users close to reaching 8 million as of 2022, the California-designed dating platform is one of the market’s leaders and it intends on staying one of them by embracing change through a little touch of nostalgia.

Tinder recently revealed that it will soon be introducing a ‘blind date feature’ for those craving for more authentic, organic or even traditional interactions and connections. You might be able to blame the seemingly endless pandemic for it, but according to a study commissioned by the app, 1 in 5 people between the age of 18 and 24 in the UK said they would like to try blind dating as it would push them to meet people they might otherwise have ignored.

“We’ve all seen the mix of anticipation and excitement going on a blind date brought some of our favorite movie or TV characters, and we wanted to recreate that experience for today’s generation with the Blind Date feature,” added Kyle Miller, VP of Product Innovation at Tinder.

“There’s something really special about letting conversation introduce someone’s personality, without the preconceptions that can be made from photos. The new Blind Date experience brings a surprisingly fun, banter-based way to interact and create connections that’s all new to Tinder.”

Soon to be available in the US before being carried out to the rest of the world, the global feature will ask bachelors a few questions before entering a timed chat where both involved will have to fill in the blanks to some multiple-choice prompts.
