Lebanese diva Haifa Wehbe has reportedly been banned, once again, from performing in Egypt. The decision, announced by Egypt’s Musicians’ Syndicate, stems from a legal dispute in which the Al Wawa singer stands accused of failing to fulfill multiple contractual obligations with a local production company.

Prompting the latter party to take legal action, the case was reviewed by the Musicians Syndicate, leading its head, Mostafa Kamel, to announce the revocation of her permit to perform in the country. As of now, Wehbe has yet to comment on the restriction.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t her first run-in with a performance ban in Egypt. Back in August 2024, the syndicate suspended her from working in the country under strikingly similar circumstances— this time over alleged contractual disputes with concert organizer Yasser Al-Hariri, who had booked her for a North Coast show.

“Although Wehbe received the agreed amount, she violated the terms of an artistic contract. This caused significant financial damage,” Al-Hariri said in a public statement. The syndicate overturned its decision after Wehbe smoothed things over with the affected stakeholders.

Details regarding how long the ban will be in effect remain unclear. It is also uncertain whether Wehbe will seek to resolve the dispute, as she did previously, or challenge the decision through legal avenues. For now, one thing’s for sure: fans can only hope that the singer and the concerned parties reach an agreement that will allow her to perform in Egypt sooner rather than later.
