After a year-long hiatus, the region’s go-to fashion event, Fashion Forward Dubai made its official comeback this month—and it did not disappoint. Their latest edition just wrapped up over the weekend, with some of the Middle East’s best designers showcasing their latest collections.
This season saw some newcomers as well, and in a 2019 twist, sustainability was in full focus. Five of the designers on board were all about sustainable design. With the climate crisis in consideration, it’s about time. Industry experts also shed some light on the topic during panels that took place between the runway shows.
And in an unprecedented move, plus-size models took to the runway for the first time. Tunisian model, Ameni Esseibi strutted down the catwalk for Mrs. Keepa’s SS20 presentation. Saudi body positive activist Ghaliah Amin walked at Reemami.
All in all, there was a lot to see this season. And in case you’ve missed it, we’ve rounded up the best looks for you.
