Since launching Huda Beauty in 2016, Iraqi beauty entrepreneur Huda Kattan landed herself on America’s Richest Self-Made Women list in 2019. And in 2020, the beauty mogul is taking her business to a whole new level with Wishful—her cruelty-free skincare brand.
As a teenager, Kattan turned to makeup in a bid to rid herself of acne. Fast forward 20 years, she’s now put that life experience into practice by launching her first skincare line.
“I think I actually wanted to do skincare more than makeup”, Kattan said in an interview with Allure.
Inspired by the Arabic meaning for her sister’s name Mona (wished for), Wishful holds all the magical skincare secrets you never knew you needed; which is befitting of her brand’s tagline: “gentle, simple, effective”.
Removing dead skin in a nonabrasive way, the first drop, the Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub, combines pineapple, papaya enzymes, BHAs and AHAs to leave your face exfoliated, brightened and smooth.
More products will be released throughout the year in a bid to give Huda Beauty fans “what they wish for”, although with Wishful, Huda Beauty is taking a more minimal turn.
The scrub is the “one product everyone needs to have,” says Kattan.
