With all the uncertainty in the air, it’s difficult to define how to help during the pandemic. Huda Kattan, the powerhouse behind cosmetics company Huda Beauty is amongst those of us who are unsure where to start—but she’s carrying out an initiative anyway.

The mogul is putting her focus on the beauty industry, hoping to inspire others to do the same. With the pandemic forcing everyone to practice social distancing, businesses have shut down, events have been cancelled, putting freelance makeup artists out of work, so Kattan announced that she’ll be giving away $100,000 to freelance makeup artists.

“I want to kick-start the way that we’re giving back by shining a spotlight on some amazing makeup artists and giving cash to some who may be struggling right now,” Kattan wrote in a post shared on Instagram. “We’ll be giving away $1,000 to 100 amazing freelance makeup artists.”

To participate, Kattan encouraged people to tag a freelance makeup artist on her post. “Please tag a freelance MUA that you know who is finding these times tough & share why you’ve put them forward,” she explained.

Donation entries will close on March 25 at 12am Gulf Standard Time.
