After months of teasing, Palestinian-American reality star Huda Mustafa has officially stepped into the music world with Bad Girls, a glossy, pop-infused debut that already feels destined to soundtrack countless TikTok dance trends this summer. On Thursday, the former Love Island USA season 7 contestant shared a clip from the music video on Instagram alongside the caption: “BAD GIRLS OUT NOW available on all platforms.” The playful video, set in an office, was directed by Edgar Esteves who has also worked with the likes of DJ Khaled, Russ, Mike WiLL Made It, French Montana, and more.
Music has long been part of Mustafa’s world. Long before reality TV fame catapulted her into the spotlight, the 25-year-old mother of one regularly posted bedroom cover videos across social media, giving followers an early glimpse at her vocals.
The single also arrives mere days after Mustafa made headlines over her split from Louis Russell following nine months of dating. Confirming the breakup in a joint statement shared with TMZ, the pair explained that they had “mutually decided to part ways for the time being” after reflecting on what was best for both of them. The statement added that Mustafa is currently focusing on motherhood, her music career, and the opportunities ahead, while Russell is dedicating his energy toward fatherhood and his future endeavors. Despite the separation, the two emphasized that they remain friends and continue to have “the utmost respect and love for one another” as they navigate this next chapter privately.
The relationship itself was also far from drama-free, with the pair finding themselves at the center of several online controversies throughout their nine months together. Most recently, headlines erupted after the mother of Russell’s child reportedly filed a restraining order against Mustafa, alleging that the reality star attempted to break into her home. Mustafa has since denied the allegations, though she has not publicly expanded further on the situation. Whether any of that emotional turbulence eventually finds its way into future releases remains to be seen. Still, if Bad Girls is any indication, Mustafa seems less interested in heartbreak ballads and more focused on ushering in a full-blown hot girl, or should we say, bad girl summer.
