Dubbed ‘Egypt’s Cinderella’, Soad Hosny is as legendary as it gets. And the actress is now being honored in the best way possible.
Due to air until September 13, a pop-up channel entirely dedicated to the late actress (housed on UAE-based television network, OSN) will continously play Hosny’s films. Yes, you read that correct, there will be an entire channel dedicated to her films. The actress, who tragically died in London in 2001, starred in more than 80 films throughout her career, with roles in iconic films like ‘Al Ashqiya al Thalatha’, ‘Bir El Herman’, and ‘Khaly Balek Min Zouzou’ cementing the late actress as a primary figure in Egypt’s cinematic golden age, alongside the likes of Faten Hamama and Omar Sharif.
OSN will air 35 of Soad Hosny’s best films, which will also be available to stream as well on the network’s streaming app.
“The launch of the Souad Hosny pop-up channel not only offers our customers a variety of content but also celebrates leading Arabic talent and cinema legends. With the growing demands of entertainment in the region and keeping in mind our users, the pop-up channel will be available across all OSN packages and our streaming service so all of our customers can tune in and enjoy unparalleled leisure options,” said Rolla Karam, OSN’s Intirum Chief Content Officer on the launch.
