UAE-based Sudanese label SN3 Studio is currently taking over a little corner of East London for what might just be one of the coolest pop-ups happening in the city right now. Having kicked off on Aug. 19 and running until Aug. 25, the multidisciplinary clothing and creative brand has moved into Beit Kotn in Shoreditch for its first-ever London residency, bringing along clothes, food, music, and a handful of the city’s most exciting creatives.
In residence at Beit Kotn–a creative residence and private hotel from Egyptian-Canadian brand Kotn– SN3 Studio is simultaneously taking over the brand’s store downstairs for six days of satellite events spanning food, music, fashion and, naturally, a bit of partying. The space will constantly shapeshift throughout the residency, moving from shop floor by day to dinner table or listening room by night, before eventually becoming a dance floor for one final send-off.
“It’s our first time doing something in London, so we wanted to make sure we did it right. We have some of our favorite people in the city with us and they’re all bringing their own flavor to the brand,” SN3 Studio founder Ahmed Shareef told MILLE.
Drinks throughout the week come courtesy of Yemeni food project Sicander, with complimentary karkade, a hibiscus iced tea and Sudanese staple, flowing throughout the pop-up. Then, on Aug. 22, Omer Al Tijani’s The Sudanese Kitchen will take over for a sit-down dinner celebrating Sudanese foodways and culinary traditions.
Two days later, London duo ZENA will step in for a listening session and live performance powered by Better Listening’s handmade sound system. The six-day residency then wraps on Aug. 25 with a closing party in the store. As for who’s playing? SN3 is keeping that under wraps, with a lineup of surprise guests and DJs only set to be revealed on the night.
On the clothing side of things, a selection of SN3 Studio’s best-sellers, including denim and leather jackets, windbreakers, graphic tees, trucker hats, trousers, and knitwear will be on shelves alongside a set of London exclusives made exclusively for the event.
The pop-up is open every day from 11am to 6pm, so if you happen to be kicking around East London this week, you already know where to pull up.
