With a name like I LOVE YOU, URGENTLY, this year’s edition of 21,39 Jeddah Arts is trying to grab our attention – fast.
Serving as a call to action for international artists, architects, designers and thinkers – this year’s fair is one big response to the current climate crisis. Not only is the fair a mirror to the current emotions artists are feelings, it’s also a prompt for our generation’s greatest thinkers to unravel new solutions and ideas in a bid to save our planet.
Not only will the fair draw in the usual crowd of art buyers, dealers and emerging artists, it will also serve as a safe space for the public to interact with sustainability dialogues with key international figures, ultimately helping both sides come up with some local solutions for the impending crisis.
As the 7th edition of the fair, this year’s might just be the most significant one yet. The themes covered will include biomimicry, the imitation of the models, systems and elements of nature for the purpose of solving complex human problems as a way to think of alternative and symbiotic ways to inhabit our planet.
