Karen Wazen is Cavalli’s First Ambassador Hailing From the Region

Their first signature with a Middle Eastern talent

As we are living in times where the issue of representation seems to constantly be in everyone’s mouth, this kind of news is always more than warmly welcomed. Lebanese-British influencer Karen Wazen has officially become Roberto Cavalli’s first Arab ambassador which, in our books, is something to celebrate. The Italian powerhouse can finally pride itself with a new addition to its already eclectic cast of models. It’s a major move for representation, as it’s their first signature with a Middle Eastern talent.

Set to be released this February, the luxury label’s latest campaign will be carried by the Dubai-based digital entrepreneur. A new line of perfume that spotlights Cavalli’s main features only this time with a very Wazen-induced twist. From the caption that follows the influencer’s reveal of the news to her daunting 7 million followers, the new global face of the brand seemed to be very enthusiastic about it all:

“This is such a dream for an Arab girl from Lebanon to be the global spokesperson for such an iconic brand… thank you to the most amazing team for this opportunity and for an unforgettable experience thank you @faustopuglisi for believing in me and making me a part of this journey ❤️”

By the looks of it, the appreciation seems to be going both ways as the creative director of Roberto Cavalli, Fausto Puglisi, recently shared in a statement how “extremely excited to welcome Karen to the Cavalli family. Her liberated spirit and glamorous style embodies the iconic Cavalli universe. We are proud to kickstart our collaboration together with a campaign that celebrates the core Cavalli fragrance pillars, which are the epitome of femininity and bring together a melody of notes inspired by our Italian heritage”.

To see someone from the region finally break through the limits that have, for too long, restricted us, is definitely inspiring to see. We hope to see more brands, and figures, follow in these groundbreaking steps.
