Did Nigo Just Drop the Hottest Sneakers?

And they're called KENZO-PACE

Ever since Nigo’s arrival at Kenzo as creative director in September 2021 there is no doubt that the brand has been on a steady upward trajectory. The Japanese designer, disc jockey, producer, and all round creative has a pristine understanding of what it means to create streetwear garments— something that reflects the times but never strays away from creating lasting trends, as seen with his streetwear brand, A Bathing Ape (BAPE). Bringing streetwear to luxury, Nigo just dropped the second edition of a series of sneakers designed by the streetwear tycoon himself, and they go by the name of KENZO-PACE.

KENZO-PACE is a highly technical and aerodynamic shoe that is made for runners, however, still making sure that you are running dripped out. Its name was chosen to highlight the notion of speed conveyed by its sporty look. To bring the sneaker to life, KENZO worked with a specialist factory in Vietnam, meticulously piecing together woven mesh combinations for resilience, and  a maximalist outsole which is tougher and heavier than a traditional running shoe— combining functionality and style.

The shoe is available for men and women in a palette of all-white, all-black, and silver and white. With more options to choose from, KENZO-PACE also comes in blue and black for men and pink and white for women. The shoe is further adorned with a reflective logo, contrasting graphics that are a nod to the strips of a tiger.

Earlier this year, Nigo revealed KENZO-DOME as his first sneaker series debut with Kenzo. Its plush suede and white-grained leather, the streamlined silhouette drew inspiration from the mid-1990’s skateboarding era. With more sneakers to look forward to, the third drop of the KENZO by Nigo debut sneaker series will be announced later this year.
