After the success of Midterm, Yasmina El Abd is back on screen with a lighter role — but one that still feels distinctly Gen Z. In Khamseen Khamseen 50/50, she plays Esraa, an enthusiastic law student navigating her first steps into professional life, bringing a playful and slightly eccentric energy to the law office at the center of the story.
Led by Syrian actress Kinda Alloush, the new social dramedy follows Rania, a lawyer forced to start over after her husband abruptly ends their marriage and leaves the country. Her return to work introduces her to Esraa and a colorful new circle of characters, while the truth about her husband’s disappearance gradually begins to unravel.
So, what is Khamseen Khamseen 50/50 about, who does Yasmina El Abd play, and who else is joining the cast? From the story and characters to the full cast, episode count, and release schedule, here’s everything to know about the new series.
What IsKhamseen Khamseen50/50 About?
Khamseen Khamseen begins with Rania, a lawyer who has been away from the profession for years, suddenly discovering that the life she knew is about to disappear.
Her husband leaves her a message claiming that his business has collapsed, that he is struggling financially, and that he has been forced to leave the country. He also tells her that he has divorced her, leaving Rania to figure out how to support herself and their son, Rami.
Her first instinct is to sell a piece of land she owns in Sharqia, but when her family refuses, she has little choice but to return to work. The problem? Years away from the legal profession have made finding a job much harder than she expected.
After several rejections, Rania eventually convinces her lawyer to give her a chance at his firm. There is just one catch: she won’t be joining as a lawyer. Instead, she starts out as his secretary.
It is there that her new life begins to take shape, as she meets Esraa, Om Mahmoud, and the rest of an office that soon becomes one of the central worlds of the series.
Meanwhile, Rania’s son uncovers an even bigger surprise. His father wasn’t actually broke. He had reportedly wrapped up his business affairs in Egypt before leaving for Dubai to start a new life with another woman.
Suddenly, Rania isn’t simply dealing with a divorce. She is rebuilding a career, supporting her son, and trying to understand how much of her old life was based on a lie.
Yasmina El Abd Plays Esraa inKhamseen Khamseen
Following her turn in Underage, Yasmina El Abd takes on a very different character as Esraa, a law student completing her training at the same office where Rania begins working.
Esraa arrives with unmistakably Gen Z energy. She is curious, talkative, and quick to introduce herself to everyone around her, even if her eagerness to become friends with her new colleagues can occasionally make her seem a little eccentric.
There is also an interesting contrast between the two women sharing the office. Rania is returning to law after years away and reluctantly starting again from the bottom, while Esraa is encountering professional life for the first time.
