La DoubleJ’s Mission to ‘Wrap the World in Joy’ Continues Strong in Milan

"Magical Matter"

Milan Fashion Week had its share of memorable moments, and La DoubleJ’s “Magical Matter” presentation at Palazzo Visconti was one of them. Known for its colorful prints and playful designs, the Milan-based brand created an immersive setting where movement, nature, and fashion seamlessly intertwined.

The showcase featured ten kinetic sculptures by Utah-based artist Lyman Whitaker, sourced from Wind Sculptures Netherlands. Spinning gently throughout the space, they formed a “wind forest” effect, mirroring the fluidity of La DoubleJ’s Fall 2025 collection. With bold silhouettes, intricate patterns, and organic influences, the collection encouraged a moment of pause—something founder J.J. Martin has long embraced in her design philosophy.

This season also marked La DoubleJ’s first foray into footwear, debuting an eight-piece sneaker collection in collaboration with Hdn-Ander. Designed with customizable charms and an extra lace detail inspired by ballet pointe shoes, the sneakers blend Brooklyn streetwear with European craftsmanship. Featuring the J.J. monogram and the phrase “Divinely Made in Italy” on the side, they signal the brand’s growing range.

The Fall 2025 collection itself drew inspiration from the natural world, incorporating prints based on microscopic elements like mushroom networks, butterfly wings, and cellular structures, all reimagined in La DoubleJ’s signature maximalist aesthetic. The scarf dressing trend was a key theme, with built-in scarves on robes, tops, and coats, while structured outerwear—such as jacquard blazers and fringed ponchos—balanced the collection’s fluid pieces.

With the introduction of sneakers and an expanding accessories line, La DoubleJ continues to evolve while staying true to its identity. Magical Matter was a thoughtful presentation that highlighted the brand’s distinctive approach to fashion—one that aims to wrap the world in joy.
