Les Benjamins’ Debut Puma Collection is Finally Here

Everything you need to know about the drop

Streetwear label Les Benjamins has become a globally recognised brand over the years, but the Istanbul-based label has just taken a massive step forward with a new collaboration with sportswear giant Puma.

Inspired by Les Benjamins founder Bunyamin Aydin’s passion for photography and travel, the label looked to Brooklyn-based photographer Timothy McGurr, who is better known as 13th Witness, to shoot the looks.

The move comes after McGurr unexpectedly discovered his own Turkish roots via a DNA test, so it was only natural for Istanbul to serve as the backdrop for the collection’s imagery. Aptly entitled Journey of Discovery, the collection is distinctly inspired by Aydin and McGurr’s Turkish roots, featuring cultural emblems, with vivid colours and patterns inspired by Turkish rugs.

Fusing Puma’s signature designs with Les Benjamins’ DNA, the collection features a reinterpretation of the classic RS-o sneaker, with a bold chunky sole and iterations of suede and knitted upper sock featuring PUMA’s RS (Running System) technology. As for the Thunder Disk Les Benjamin, the sneaker is finished with a traditional Turkish carpet print alongside the iconic PUMA Disk.

Released this weekend in New York City, the collection also includes everything from unisex tracksuits, parkas, windbreakers and hoodies.
