It seems like not a week goes by where MDLBEAST isn’t making headlines with a new project or initiative. Now, the region’s leading institution for all things music-related is gearing up to host the third edition of XPERFORM: an initiative launched under the MDLBEAST Foundation that aims to discover and nurture up-and-coming ’musical talents in the Arab World.
The competition, which takes place annually, invites rising artists from across the region to submit samples of their work, before 30 contestants are selected to perform in front of a panel of esteemed judges. These live auditions will be held at the Saudi Music Hub in Riyadh on July 6 and 7 with each performance expected to be evaluated based on vocal quality, stage presence, and overall execution.
This year’s panel of judges includes Emirati singer and songwriter Shamma Hamdan, who made history as the first woman from the UAE to reach the finals of Arabs Got Talent. She will be joined by Saudi-Sudanese rapper Dafencii, who’s widely recognized as one of the breakout artists of last year, along with Egyptian actor Hassan Abouelrouss, who’s celebrated for his contributions to the realms of music, television, and cinema. Last, but not least, MDLBEAST Record’s A&R manager Rawan Alfas will round out the panel, expected to bring her expertise and insights on the Middle East and North African industry to spot the next star.

The top qualifiers from the auditions will move on to an exciting social media challenge where contestants will be tasked with the production of a one-minute-long video showcasing their talents before sharing it on their preferred platform using the hashtags #XPERFORM and #SocialMediaChallenge. The XPERFORM judges will carefully evaluate these submissions to decide who will advance to the final round, which will take place at the XP Music Futures Conference in December.
